Gay Iceland Tour (Active)

Experience more than just the highlights of Iceland on this jam-packed active tour. Float between icebergs of Jokulsarlon Lagoon, go caving in a thousand year-old lava tube, swim between the tectonic continental plates, swim in a glacier river then trek across the glacier that fed it. And that’s just the beginning! Head back to Reykjavik just in time to meet others in town for pride at the Blue Lagoon. Then, off to the city to partake in the Gay Pride festivities.


August 3, 2014


Day 1 Reykjavik – Our first day begins with our group meeting followed by an optional group dinner. Following dinner we head to a popular lounge for a welcome reception with locals.

Day 2 Silfra Snorkelling/Gjábakkahellir Cave – Today we head to Silfra where we swim and snorkel between the continents where the tectonic plates meet, with the opportunity to actually see the crack in the surface under water. Later in the day we continue our adventure with a cave hike through a lava tube that was created thousands of years ago by a river of red glowing lava.

Day 3 Hvíta River Rafting – This morning we hit the water for an exciting and beautiful river rafting experience where you’ll see great mix of serene canyons and adrenaline pumping waves and rapids. In the afternoon our drive takes us along the South coast of Iceland to iconic Seljalandsfoss and Skógarfoss waterfalls as well as the captivating rock formations of Reynisfjara and Reynisdrangar.

Day 4 Mýrdalsjökull Glacier Trek & Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon – Are you ready to trek on a glacier? Great! After a lesson in ice walking we head onto the Mýrdalsjökull Glacier to experience one of the most popular activities in Iceland; Ice Trekking. After you’ve conquered the glacier, we head to Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon where we have a relaxing boat ride amidst freshly calved icebergs.

Day 5 Blue Lagoon & Pride Opening Ceremonies – Your adventure becomes even more exciting when we head to the Blue Lagoon where we join other gay and lesbian travellers for a dip in the geothermal pool. Enjoy a drink and get to know some of the new guests before we head to our design hotel in Reykjavik which will serve as our base for the next few nights. This evening we attend the Reykjavik Pride opening ceremony where tourists and locals enjoy local and international entertainment.

Day 6 Golden Circle & Fontana Steam Baths – Today we will join a larger gay and lesbian group to experience Gullfoss waterfall, the world-famous Geysir & Þingvellir national park where you can see the Great Atlantic Rift. Following this we head to the Fontana Steam Baths where you will have a chance to enjoy three geothermally heated baths, a sauna, a warm sand beach and access to the pristine waters of Lake Laugarvatn. If you have energy after today we have an optional dinner followed by VIP access to the Pride Concert, Queer Cruise and the official Pride events.

Day 7-8 Reykjavik Pride – What better way to start the day than with a champagne brunch? Following brunch we watch the Reykjavik Gay Pride Parade and enjoy a short outdoor concert. Tonight is the official Pride dance which has become the main event for the festival. Day 8 is departure day with no activities included. You are free to depart at your leisure using your complimentary transfer.

Gay Iceland Winter Weekend Getaway (Comfort)

Join us this March in the Land of Fire and Ice, better known as Iceland. Kick off your adventure at an Icelandic house party where you’ll get to know each other, and some locals! At night, we’ll feast on the best of Icelandic cuisine before heading out in Reykjavik for a few cocktails. We’ll spend time soaking in lagoons, we’ll traverse an ice cap by way of snowmobile and we’ll explore the famous Golden Circle, including Gulfoss Waterfall and the Great Geysir. All said and done, no visit would be complete without a visit to the countryside, so pack your bag as we head to one of the best places to see the Northern Lights in South Iceland. Enjoy our cozy countryside hotel for one night, where we have the chance to relax in the hot tub while we witness the magic that is the Aurora Borealis.


Day 1/Friday Reykjavik – Meet your fellow travellers and your Icelandic guide, prior to exploring Reykjavik by foot. This evening we’ll head out for an optional dinner at one of the best restaurants in Iceland, then we’ll head to an Icelandic house party where the guests of honour are… us! If you aren’t too jet lagged, we’ll also hit the town for some dancing.

Day 2/Saturday Reykjavik – This afternoon we head to the famous Blue Lagoon where we’ll relax in this geothermal oasis while sipping on a cocktail. We’ll then head to the Reykjanes Peninsula where you can cross a bridge between continents. Talk about being world travellers!

Day 3/Sunday Golden Circle/Hveragerði – Today we’ll pack an overnight bag and hit the road on the famous Golden Circle tour. We’ll visit Thingvellir National Park where the tectonic plates are literally pulling apart, then we’ll see the beauty and fury of Gulfoss Waterfall, followed by a vist to the Great Geysir. Tonight we’ll relax and soak in the geothermal hot tub at our charming country hotel, and hopefully we’ll witness the Northern Lights!

Day 4/Monday Mýrdalsjökull Glacier/Reykjavik – Mid-morning we drive to the South Shore where we’ll see black beaches, unbelievable rock formations, beautiful waterfalls and perhaps an Icelandic horse or two. After sightseeing, we head towards Mýrdalsjökull Glacier, an icecap covering one of Iceland’s largest mountains. We’ll board a monster-style truck that will take us to the top of the glacier where we’ll witness spectacular views on an epic snowmobile adventure. After our excursion we’ll head back to Rekjavik for our final dinner and night on the town.

Day 5/Tuesday Reykjavik – Today is departure day. You are free to depart at any time. We hope you’ve enjoyed your time in Iceland with OUT Adventures.
